logo TO ALL NAOC MEMBERS, VOLUNTEERS & FRIENDS

The Board of NAOC wishes to advise all NAOC members who attended our last AGM in August 2011, of the Dissolution and Closing of NAOC on the 14 December 2011 was formally filed with the BC Government.

Unfortunately re-establishing in Surrey did not work out as NAOC did not have the manpower, resources and finances for the task. All equipment had been stored for a year and will become outdated and deteriorate without being used.

Numerous alternatives were investigated.  Any organisation that NAOC could donate the equipment to would have to comply (as NAOC has always done) with Non-Profit regulations and all proper procedures with the  BC Govt. in Victoria and the Canadian Revenue Service in Ottawa.

The Board eventually voted and the final majority vote was in favour of all assets (equipment and finances) to be donated to NeilSquire Society - an organisation in Burnaby providing computer teaching to the disabled (www.neilsquire.ca) All procedural requirements/rules of BC Govt. and CRA Ottawa have been complied with.

On behalf of all of us who enjoyed NAOC, thank you for your involvement, membership, voluntary work and help over the years and especially in our recent difficult times.

Wishing you and your families a Peaceful Christmas and New Year.

Don Henry  Past  President
